Midland Brick

Midland Brick operates a private High Voltage system to feed its Brickworks operation on the Great Northern Highway East of Perth. This system includes overhead distribution powerlines, underground cable and Transformers. Like all HV systems it requires ongoing monitoring and maintenance. Future Power have carried out a comprehensive survey of the High Voltage system, and a series of recommendations and strategies have been implemented. These works have included Pole, HV Cable, and Transformer replacements during planned shutdown periods. We also provide emergency call out services for breakdowns 24 hours a day.

Hope Downs 33kv Distribution Power Project

Future Power provided Project Management and installation crews to carry out the installation of the 33kv Power reticulation for the Hope Downs Iron Ore project run by RIO TINTO, in the Pilbara region of Western Australia.

This project included the installation of 42kms of overhead 33kv Powerline, 4kms OPGW, 2kms of underground 33kv cable, 25 Pole Top Transformers, 25 LV installations to borefield pumps including cabling and switchboard installation, 5 Transformer compounds and associated earthing, concrete, fencing and cabling installation.

Millstream Substation

Future Power were engaged to carry out foundation strengthening of concrete foundations within an operating 220kv substation at Millstream via Karratha West Australia.

The project involved a number of stake holders including Rio Tinto, Western Power and ABB Australia.

This work included excavation around existing foundations and conduits, within the substation, and addition of REO Bar and installation of additional concrete, around the footings.

Cliffs Nickel 33kv Powerline

Future Power provided Project Management and Installation crews to carry out the 33kv Powerline installation, Mt Keith West Aust. for the Cliffs Nickel project, run by BHP BILLITON.

This work included the installation of 4.5kms of 33kv Powerline, including OPGW and associated terminations, 1km of underground 33kv cable, 1km underground Optic Fibre cable, Pole mounted Recloser and Transformer installations. This project included the directional drilling and installation of conduits beneath the Mt Keith Airport.

Cliffs Nickel Upstream Upgrade Project

Project Management and Installation of the “Upstream Upgrade”, for the Cliffs Nickel project, BHP Billiton.

This project included the installation of two 11kv Circuit Breakers, 120m culverts, 1200m 11kv High Voltage cable, construction of Transformer compound comprising 5m high blast walls, Installation of two 12.5mva Transformers with On Line Tap Changes and Automatic Voltage Regulators, and commissioning of the whole system. This project was carried out within an operating Gas Fired Power Station and included continuous liaison with operator of the Power station, Transalta, and BHP BILLITON mining operations.Value$2.5m

Rockingham Public Open Space Lighting

This project includes the installation of 4.5kms of trenching and conduit, 85 streetlights, two new switchboards and associated works.

The project involves continuous co-ordination, interaction and liaison with the general public, as our work crews trench and lay conduit and cable through parks and lane ways.

Mesa A Powerline

Future Power has been engaged to provide project management, plant, equipment and personnel to carry out the Conductor Stringing installation for the 33kv Powerline at the Mesa A project via Pannawonica West Australia. This project involves the installation of 45kms of overhead conductor and OPGW communication wire.
