Future Power Projects
Future Power WA was awarded an initial tender to supply and install one monopole and ten floodlights to Raphael Park in the Town of Vic Park. This initial work was the first stage of a larger project for the park lighting, which included the supply and installation of a total of six poles and forty-two floodlights. Stage 2 of the project was limited by funding to be spread over two financial years.
Future Power WA worked closely with the council representatives to put together a project plan, including staged payment terms, which allowed the whole project to proceed and ensured that the council received the benefit of economies of scale achieved.
The project involved:
Throughout this project, our Project Manager held regular update meetings with the Council Consultant and Council representatives.
The project involved trenching across the park ovals being utilised by local schools during the week and sporting clubs on the weekends. Works were programmed around the oval usage and no work was conducted on the weekends to allow the sporting clubs continued access to the fields. The site had a number of underground services including reticulation and existing electrical infrastructure that was not shown on any site plans. Future Power WA identified all of these services and completed 600m of underground trenching without disturbing any of these services.
This project was formally opened by the Mayor of Victoria Park in March 2014 and was eagerly received by the patrons of the oval and lighting installation. The project was completed without incident and has achieved all required outcomes.
