Kingfisher Oval Sports Lighting

This project involved the supply and installation of eleven 25m monopoles fitted with thirty-two 2000W floodlights, 500m of open trenching, installation of client supplied switchboard, supply and installation of four 10m poles and lighting to upgrade existing lighting on the netball courts, liaise with Western Power to connect and change over the supply.

The project encountered many challenges for the Council which, with the co-operation of our Project Team, were managed and solutions achieved with minimum interruption.

One of these challenges involved a pole footing being surveyed incorrectly by the Council Surveyor. The concrete footing was installed to the position surveyed, and on checking prior to pole installation, it was determined the footing was in the incorrect position.

Our Project Team worked with the Council to supply and install a replacement footing which had to be sourced from the USA, and to remove the original footing to ensure public safety.
Our Project Manager identified minor but important omissions involved with the project drawings.  He worked closely with the Council Project Manager to ensure that these omissions were included in the installation, and the works were completed to meet all regulatory standards.

The project also required the removal of an existing pole, and installation of new poles adjacent to an existing Western Power transmission line. Our team co-ordinated with Western Power, to carry out the works at the same time as their crews were working on the same line. This reduced the downtime required on the line and eliminated a shutdown for Western Power.
